Lavras do Sul, located in Rio Grande do Sul, is home to the LDS Project, a vast area of approximately 23,000 hectares. This project is centered around the LDS intrusive complex, a multiphase intrusive center surrounded by coeval volcanic rocks. The town's mining history dates back to 1932, when the first geophysics surveys in Brazil were undertaken here.
The Cerrito and Butiá gold deposits, both within the LDS Project, hold significant resources. The Cerrito deposit has an indicated and inferred resource of 471,000 ounces of gold, while the Butiá deposit has a measured and indicated resource of 377,000 ounces.
