Leapmotor initiated pre-sales of their B10 SUV model starting March 10.

The Leapmotor B10, a new compact electric SUV, is set to shake up China's smart EV market with its competitive price point and advanced features. Scheduled for pre-sale on March 10th, the B10 promises to deliver a 67 kWh battery, a range of 600 km (CLTC), and 215 hp, all while keeping the price under RMB 150,000 (approximately US$13,580).

One of the B10's standout features is its inclusion of LiDAR for urban smart driving capabilities, a first for Leapmotor and a rarity in this price range. This technology allows the B10 to compete directly with models like the Nio Onvo L60 and Aito M5, both of which also emphasize urban smart driving technology, albeit often at a slightly higher price point or with additional luxury features.

The B10 is the first model in Leapmotor's B-series lineup and is built on the Leap 3.5 architecture. It's approximately the size of a BMW X1, making it a practical choice for urban environments.

Leapmotor's success in 2024 saw the delivery of 293,724 vehicles, a 103.76% increase from the previous year. This growth continued into 2025, with January deliveries reaching 25,170 units, although this was a decrease of 40.8% compared to December's deliveries.

In a move to stay ahead in the competitive EV market, rival company BYD has started offering smart driving systems for free across its entire lineup. BYD has also brought Smart Driving Edition updates to 21 models in its Dynasty and Ocean lineups, with the Seagull, priced as low as RMB 69,800, being one of the beneficiaries.

As the Leapmotor B10 prepares to enter the market, it's clear that it will offer a compelling option for budget-conscious buyers seeking premium features in an electric vehicle.
