Leapmotor's Global EV Sales Surge: 66,000 Vehicles in China, 20 Countries for B10 SUV
Leapmotor, a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made significant strides in Europe and China. The company recently introduced the B10 SUV to 20 countries, while selling over 66,000 vehicles in China in September alone. This impressive performance comes under the leadership of CEO Zhu Jiangming and veteran automotive executive Wu Baojun.
Leapmotor's European expansion began with the T03 and C10 models. The company's success is evident in its sales figures. In September, Leapmotor sold 66,657 vehicles in China, surpassing the 60,000 mark for the first time. This remarkable achievement follows a rapid growth trajectory. Leapmotor transitioned from 500,000 to 1 million vehicles in just 343 days, setting a record among Chinese automotive start-ups.
Leapmotor's success can be attributed to its strategic leadership. CEO Zhu Jiangming, the company's founder, has been driving growth and global expansion. Wu Baojun, a veteran automotive executive, joined Leapmotor in mid-2020. He played a crucial role in key achievements like the Hong Kong Stock Exchange listing and partnership with Stellantis before departing after meeting his goals.
Leapmotor continues to strengthen its position in the EV market. The company plans to complete its product range by the end of the year with the launch of the B10 sporty coupé. With total registrations in the third quarter reaching 395,516, a 129% increase compared to the same period last year, Leapmotor is the best-selling New Energy Vehicles startup for the seventh consecutive month. The company has also produced its millionth vehicle, ranking second among Chinese automotive start-ups.
