Square, a leading payments and commerce platform, has expanded its partnership with Live Nation Canada in a three-year agreement, set to revolutionise the live music experience across the country this summer and beyond.

Key aspects of this expanded collaboration include Square becoming the exclusive payment processing and point of sale provider at Live Nation Canada’s major venues and festivals nationwide. This means that Square will power all commerce transactions at these locations, from coast to coast.

The partnership now officially includes the newly opened Rogers Stadium in Toronto, set to open on June 29, 2023, as well as existing venues like Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, HISTORY, Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, and Midway Music Hall in Edmonton.

Square is deploying its advanced payment ecosystem, which features Square Register, Square Terminal, and the newly launched Square Handheld devices for checkout operations. The company also offers eCommerce capabilities at venues such as in-seat ordering at Budweiser Stage’s premium suites via Square Online.

This partnership aims to streamline concert purchases nationwide in Canada, with Square's technology facilitating quicker transactions for food, beverage, and merchandise purchases at Live Nation Canada venues. The Square Handheld device, in particular, allows vendors to process payments directly from their pockets, enabling mobile payments at Live Nation Canada venues.

In-seat ordering at Live Nation Canada venues will also benefit from Square's eCommerce tools, providing a convenient and efficient service for premium suite guests. Nick Molnar, Global Head of Sales at Block (Square’s parent company), emphasised that “Every minute saved in line is another memory made at the show.”

This enhanced partnership cements Square’s role as a leading commerce platform in Canadian live entertainment venues, promising seamless payment experiences for millions of fans this summer and over the next three years. Square is a trusted payments and commerce platform for large-scale live entertainment venues worldwide, according to Nick Molnar.

The partnership between Square and Live Nation Canada began in 2022, expanding on a previous relationship that started at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage and Veld Music Festival. Square is now the official point of sale and payment processing provider at all Live Nation Canada venues and festivals, including top summer music festivals such as Veld Music Festival (Toronto), Badlands (Calgary), and Fvded in The Park (Surrey).

With this partnership, Live Nation Canada fans can look forward to reduced wait times, improved transaction speed, and increased convenience, allowing them to spend more time enjoying performances rather than waiting in lines.

Technology will be integrated into the live entertainment scene as Square, a leading payments and commerce platform, will power all commerce transactions at Live Nation Canada's venues and festivals, including the advanced Square Handheld devices for mobile payments. Entertainment and sports enthusiasts can also anticipate improved convenience and efficiency in the form of reduced wait times and quicker transactions at Live Nation Canada venues.
