Maruti Suzuki India Reports Record Production, Exports Despite Domestic Sales Dip

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) has reported a significant increase in production and exports, despite a decline in domestic passenger vehicle sales. The company produced over 2 lakh units and exported over 42,000 units in September 2025.

MSIL's total production surged by 26.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 1,98,316 units in September 2025. Including commercial vehicles, this figure rose to 2,01,915 units. The company's highest-ever monthly exports, at 42,204 units, marked a 52.2% y-o-y growth.

The increase was driven by utility vehicles like Brezza, Ertiga, and Fronx, which saw a 27% y-o-y rise in production to 79,496 units. Compact models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, and Swift also contributed, with production increasing to 93,301 units. Despite these gains, total domestic passenger vehicle dispatches to dealers declined by 8% y-o-y to 1,32,828 units. MSIL's total sales, however, witnessed a 3% y-o-y increase at 1,89,665 units. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, MSIL, cited logistics challenges for the delay in vehicle supply.

MSIL's September 2025 production and export figures indicate a strong performance, despite a dip in domestic sales. The company's focus on utility vehicles and compact models has driven this growth. However, the impact of logistics challenges on supply remains a concern.
