Meta's 2025 Conference Focuses on Revolutionizing Smart Glass Technology
Meta has recently unveiled its latest push into AI, virtual reality, and wearable technology with the launch of three new pairs of smart glasses: Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2), Oakley Meta Vanguard, and Meta Ray-Ban Display.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) comes with a host of new features, including a 12MP ultra-wide camera, 3K video capture at 60fps, and a battery life rated at 8 hours. The Oakley Meta Vanguard is a sport-focused pair of smart glasses designed for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. It has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating, a 122-degree wide-angle camera, and up to 9 hours of battery life. It features new video modes like slow-motion, hyperlapse, and time-lapse, all stabilized. It also integrates fitness apps like Garmin and Strava for real-time stats during workouts.
The event also showcased updates to the Horizon Engine, including more realistic graphics, faster, and bigger virtual worlds. The Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available soon, but no exact release date has been announced yet; the price level has not been specified in the available sources. Oakley Meta Vanguard will cost $499, with preorders live now and full availability starting October 21st.
