MTS introduces their own public cloud service platform

Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has made a significant move in the tech industry by launching its new MWS Cloud Platform. The platform, which was unveiled during the CIBR conference, is set to offer a wide range of services to businesses and developers of all sizes.

According to Igor Zarubinsky, CEO of MWS Cloud and MTS's Vice President of Infrastructure Development, the MWS Cloud Platform is a key area for the company and will significantly strengthen their position in the cloud market. The platform is being actively invested in for development, created from scratch using global practices to meet MWS's needs and adapt to customer requirements and market trends.

The MWS Cloud Platform is built with a focus on security, adhering to the Security-by-design principle. It is designed to offer a high level of cybersecurity to its users. The platform is also planned to expand to 15 services by the end of the year.

The services and features of the MWS Cloud Platform are not explicitly detailed, but given the context and typical offerings of cloud platforms, it is likely to include infrastructure as a service (IaaS), along with data storage, computing resources, and possibly advanced analytics or geocoding services.

The MWS Cloud Platform offers a variety of services, including but not limited to object storage, virtual machines, CDN, VPC, and additional services. It also includes a unified secure access management and billing system. Convenient management and automation interfaces are provided, including a web console, API, CLI, and Terraform.

The platform is vendor-independent and manages the entire development cycle, from hardware and communication channels to code. It is designed to solve tasks related to website, application, and e-commerce hosting, internal IT systems, disaster recovery solutions, and other scenarios.

One of the key features of the MWS Cloud Platform is its scalability. It allows Russian companies and developers to store and process data of any volume and format with unlimited scalability. The platform will be deployed in two geographically distributed Tier III fault-tolerant data centers, increasing its availability for customers.

The MWS Cloud Platform is based on proprietary virtualization technologies for computing power and network infrastructure. It is worth noting that MTS's cloud services, under the CloudMTS brand, have seen significant growth. In the third quarter of 2022, their revenue increased by 79% without raising prices.

With the launch of the MWS Cloud Platform, MTS has opened up a new chapter in its cloud services journey. The platform is set to provide businesses and developers with a robust, secure, and scalable cloud solution, further cementing MTS's position in the tech industry.

By the end of the year, the MWS Cloud Platform will offer Docker image and Kubernetes cluster management, ClickHouse, Kafka, PostgreSQL databases, a load balancer, and an encryption key management system. This expansion will undoubtedly make the platform more attractive to a wider range of businesses and developers.
