Nazara Technologies Expands Digital Advertising Footprint with Acquisitions

In a strategic move to bolster its digital advertising solutions and expand its presence, particularly in the European and UK markets, Nazara Technologies has announced several acquisitions.

On August 14, 2024, the company finalized the acquisition of a majority stake in Ad Tech firm Fusebox Games. This acquisition follows Nazara's previous acquisitions of Paper Boat Apps and Space & Time.

The acquisition of Fusebox Games, a mobile games developer based in the UK, is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Fusebox Games, founded in 2014, has offices in London and San Francisco and has developed popular games such as "The Walking Dead: Our World" and "Jurassic World Alive."

Meanwhile, Nazara Technologies' subsidiary, Datawrkz, has acquired a 100% stake in Space & Time, an independent growth marketing agency based in the UK. The deal, valued at approximately GBP 4.8 million (~₹52.3 Crore) in cash and stock, was announced earlier this year.

Space & Time, established in 2000, has 135 staff across offices in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Surrey, and Bournemouth. The agency has achieved strong revenue growth over the last three years and is one of a select few Google Premier Partners in the UK.

The collaboration between Datawrkz and Space & Time brings together Space & Time's expertise in growth marketing, media, and technology with Datawrkz's strengths in programmatic advertising technology and optimization. The combined operations are expected to unlock new synergies across client relationships, broaden cross-market offerings, and provide access to newer industry segments.

The acquisition of Space & Time by Datawrkz under Nazara Technologies' ownership marks a substantial expansion of Datawrkz’s growth marketing agency footprint across Europe (especially the UK) and North America. This expansion is backed by strong financial growth and strategic synergies in ad-tech services.

On a consolidated basis including Space & Time, Datawrkz reported a 313% year-over-year revenue growth and a 283% EBITDA growth. The expansion also uses the geographic footprint from the Space & Time acquisition to grow solutions within the UK market, indicating targeted growth in Europe alongside existing North American presence.

Senthil Govindan, CEO and founder of Datawrkz, will join the Space & Time board. Chris Jones, Space & Time’s chief executive officer, was named in the 'CEO and Leaders' category of the BIMA 100 this year.

The acquisition also involved the sale of Space & Time group entities including Adgenda Media International Limited to other firms, which may reflect strategic restructuring related to Datawrkz’s growth plans in the advertising technology domain.

The acquisition of Fusebox Games and Space & Time is expected to enhance Nazara's presence in the mobile gaming market. With the addition of these companies, Nazara Technologies positions itself as a scaled player in the global digital advertising market.
