OSPRAY & SICK Unveil OD200: A Game-Changing Compact Laser Sensor

OSPRAY, in collaboration with SICK, has introduced the OD200, a compact laser distance sensor designed for short-range measurements. Released in 2023, the OD200 is set to revolutionise various industries with its intelligent features and high performance.

The OD200 boasts a triangulation measurement core, enabling it to deliver precise results up to 3 kHz. Its repeatability is an impressive 2 μm, ensuring consistent, reliable data. The sensor is plug and play, making installation a breeze, and offers standard connectivity options for high-speed processes and precise performance.

The OD200's intelligent default settings and menu-driven user interface make it user-friendly. It's ideal for a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, and electronics, for applications like quality control and part counting. It excels in challenging conditions, such as measuring shiny metal and plastic parts in poor lighting.

Programming the OD200 is straightforward using SICK's SOPAS software. It provides useful operating data for inline optimisation and condition monitoring. The sensor's newly-developed measuring core, dynamic receiver system, and optimised optical system ensure fast, stable, reliable, and repeatable detection on complex surfaces like carbon fibre composites and die castings.

The OD200, a result of OSPRAY and SICK's collaboration, is a compact, high-performance laser distance sensor. With its intelligent settings, user-friendly interface, and exceptional measurement capabilities, it's set to enhance productivity and quality control in various industries. Its ability to deliver stable, accurate results on complex surfaces and in challenging conditions makes it a valuable addition to automation systems.
