Protests Against Chinese Foreign Minister's Visit in New Delhi

Exiled Tibetans staged a series of protests in New Delhi, India, against the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in August 2025. The demonstrations, organized by groups such as the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) and Students for a Free Tibet (SFT), took place outside key locations like the Chinese Embassy, Hyderabad House, and on pedestrian bridges along Wang Yi’s route.

Activists unfurled large banners reading “Wang Yi: Free Tibet” and protested against China’s policies in Tibet and its interference with Tibetan religious practices, including the Dalai Lama’s reincarnation. The protests included shouting slogans against what they referred to as cultural genocide and China’s occupation of Tibet.

Images and videos from these protests show groups holding banners, waving flags, and engaging in organized demonstration actions around Wang Yi’s visit. Several activists were briefly detained by Indian police during these demonstrations before being released later the same day.

Military and Aid Developments Around the World

Meanwhile, in other parts of the world, significant events were unfolding. In North Korea, Kim Jong Un inspected the warship Choe Hyon, which North Korean state media says will enter service in 2026 and can accommodate various weapons systems, including nuclear-capable cruise and ballistic missiles.

Russia also made headlines with the release of footage showing a Tu-95MS nuclear-capable strategic bomber during a scheduled flight over neutral waters.

In Palestine, aid was delivered to Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, with Palestinians flocking to the billowing parachutes that signalled the arrival of desperately needed supplies.

Unfortunately, natural disasters also struck other parts of the world. In Pakistan, pictures of the devastation caused by an enormous storm continue to emerge, featuring a soldier monitoring rainwater flowing from the mountains across a damaged area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Cultural Events and Technological Advancements

In a more positive note, cultural events such as the traditional Libyan horse riding event, Al Miz, took place, with riders charging in a straight line before simultaneously firing muskets.

Technological advancements were also on display in Kathmandu, Nepal, where humanoid robots stood guard next to a flying taxi at the NADA Auto Show.

Finally, in London Zoo, ring-tailed lemurs were weighed during the annual weigh-in to help zookeepers monitor their health. Meanwhile, the scale of the wildfires that have engulfed several parts of Europe was evident in a satellite image showing billowing smoke and charred ground in Piodao, Portugal.
