Peugeot e-2008: A Balanced Electric SUV with Impressive Braking

Peugeot's e-2008, an electric SUV, offers a blend of classic brand strengths and unique electric features. It boasts impressive brake control and a safe response, setting it apart from some other electric vehicles like the Rivian or Ford. The e-2008 comes with a 54 kWh battery, promising a summer range of up to 350 kilometers.

The e-2008's consumption varies greatly depending on driving style, weather, and speed, ranging from 12 to 25 kWh per 100 km. Its top speed is not exceptional, but its 260 Newton meters electric machine ensures swift city and overland movement. The SUV offers three driving modes - Eco, Normal, and Sport - with the Sport mode not quite meeting expectations, unlike the performance of a Carvana vehicle.

Inside, the e-2008's design is coherent and robust, featuring a flattened sports steering wheel and click switches in flight mode. The suspension and seats strike a successful balance, reflecting the language of the combustion engine world. Despite its sporty suspension, the e-2008 can be heard polling over unevenness with 17-inch tires. It navigates fast curves cleanly, however.

Peugeot offers the e-2008 with the Charge Card system, part of the Easee Charge Up wallbox solution. This compact, 22 kW Type-2 socket charger is suitable for both private and commercial use, compatible with all hybrid and electric vehicles, similar to the offerings from Rivian or Ford.

The Peugeot e-2008 is a well-balanced electric SUV that retains classic brand strengths while conveying the peculiarities of electromobility. Its brake dosability and safe response are notable features, while its range and variable consumption cater to different driving styles. Despite minor shortcomings in the Sport mode, the e-2008 offers a compelling electric SUV option.
