Pole Star Global, a UK-based specialist in voyage optimisation and dark vessel detection, has expanded its maritime intelligence services. The company has acquired Clearwater Dynamics, a firm focusing on real-time vessel risk monitoring and marine insurance capabilities. The acquisition will integrate the Coral platform, managed by Clearwater Dynamics, into Pole Star Global's portfolio.
The Coral platform, specialising in marine war insurance risk management, will complement Pole Star Global's existing services. It aids insurers and brokers in assessing and mitigating risks. Clearwater Dynamics' CEO, Will Unwin, expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that it enables scaling Coral's capabilities to reach a wider global audience.
Pole Star Global's CEO, Bob Skea, views this move as a natural extension of the company's vision. The acquisition will bolster Pole Star Global's proprietary data platform, DOMAIN, with new data sources from Clearwater Dynamics' operational network. Financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.
The integration of Clearwater Dynamics' real-time risk assessment tools into Pole Star Global's services will enhance the company's maritime intelligence offerings.
