Polestar Unveils Sleek Electric Grand Tourer, the Polestar 5
Polestar has revealed the Polestar 5, a sleek electric Grand Tourer. The four-door car is nearly 5 metres long and boasts a minimalist, aviation-inspired design. It's available in Dual Motor and Performance configurations.
The Polestar 5 Dual Motor delivers 550 kW of power, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. The Performance variant ups the ante with 650 kW (872 hp), slicing the same sprint to 3.2 seconds. Both versions are electronically limited to 250 km/h.
A standout feature is the Steer-by-Wire technology from ZF. It enables the Easy Turn front axle system, doubling the maximum wheel steering angle to 80 degrees. This significantly reduces the turning radius, enhancing maneuverability. The system is scalable and adaptable for various vehicle models.
Inside, the cabin follows a 4+1 seating layout with premium front seats co-developed by Recaro. Upholstery options include Charcoal MicroTech or sustainably sourced Bridge of Weir Nappa leather, with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The infotainment system uses Polestar's Android Automotive OS with Google built-in, offering customisable tiles and shortcuts.
The Polestar 5, based on the 2020 Precept concept, brings cutting-edge technology and sustainable luxury to the electric Grand Tourer segment. With its impressive performance, innovative steering system, and premium interior, it's set to make waves in the market.
