Pudu Robotics Triples Capacity by 2025, Dominates Japan's Robot Waiter Market

Pudu Robotics, a Chinese innovator in service robotics, has announced significant growth and expansion plans. The company, known for its robot waiters, has captured the top share in the world market, delivering around 7,500 units. With two new factories under construction in the Yangtze Delta area near Shanghai, Pudu aims to triple its annual capacity by 2025.

Pudu's success in the global market has been driven by overseas demand, with international clients accounting for approximately 80% of its sales. The company's growth has been rapid, with revenues reaching around USD 100 million in 2022, earning it unicorn status. Pudu has also made a significant impact in Japan, delivering 3,000 robots to restaurant operator Skylark Holdings, serving around 2,100 locations. The company aims to exceed 100,000 units in total deliveries in the next few years.

The world market for service robots is expected to grow by 33% in 2023 to USD 33.7 billion. Pudu's expansion plans include two new factories in the Yangtze Delta area, which are expected to be completed between 2024 and 2025. Once operational, these factories will bring Pudu's total annual capacity to about 150,000 units.

Pudu Robotics' expansion is a testament to the growing demand for labor-saving machines in the service industry. With its robot waiters capturing the top share in the world market and plans to triple its annual capacity by 2025, Pudu is well-positioned to capitalize on the global growth of the service robot market.
