Residents of CommAur are urged to set aside money
In the region of Khabarovsk Krai, temporary restrictions on mobile internet operation have been causing some inconveniences, particularly in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur. According to reports by the "Khabarovsk Krai Today" news agency, these restrictions, which began in May 2025, are not related to the technical condition of the telecommunications infrastructure.
The government authorities of Khabarovsk Krai have introduced "white lists" of internet resources during these temporary restrictions. Access to these white-listed resources will be provided automatically, without the need for additional user identification. This measure is intended to protect the population and critical infrastructure.
However, the temporary restrictions have been causing issues with cashless payments in public transport in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The Administration of Komsomolsk-on-Amur has recommended local residents to have cash on hand due to these disruptions. The problems stem from bank card payment terminals refusing to work, a result of the disruptions in mobile internet operation.
Similarly, the issues with the operation of payment terminals for cashless payments in public transport are also affecting Khabarovsk Krai, although the extent of the impact is not yet clear. The press service of the Youth City's mayor's office has also reported on these issues.
It's worth noting that wired internet continues to function, and voice communication, including emergency services, is available during the mobile internet restrictions. However, no information has been provided about the potential consequences of the mobile internet restrictions on businesses or the economy in Khabarovsk Krai.
The region of Khabarovsk Krai believes that its future lies in the "digital" sector. The introduction of these temporary mobile internet restrictions could potentially hinder this progress, but it remains to be seen how the situation will develop. For now, residents are advised to be prepared and have cash on hand for transactions that require it.
The authorities in Khabarovsk Krai are currently testing a new technical scheme of "white lists" of internet resources to operate during temporary mobile connection restrictions. It's hoped that this will provide a more seamless experience for users while still ensuring the protection of the population and critical infrastructure.
