Robotics Center Set for ASAS Premises in Neuwied
A Robotics Center is set to be established on the ASAS premises in Neuwied, with a technology park including the BiFAR - the Education, Research and Application Center for Robotics led by the University of Koblenz. Research Minister Clemens Hoch has visited the site, and various partners demonstrated their robotics capabilities.
The feasibility study for the technology park has been launched by the city of Neuwied, economic development organizations, the university, and ASAS. Mayor Peter Jung expressed support for the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.
The Robotics Center aims to facilitate knowledge and technology transfer to businesses and the region, and promote startup development. It is planned to be anchored in the region and offer companies an incentive to jointly carry out development projects. The center will also support a continuous education chain in robotics, from school education to vocational training and higher education.
The site has undergone significant renovation, with around 15,000 tons of plant scrap removed and around 30,000 tons of material added to fill pits. Fire protection measures have been implemented, and the halls have been cleaned and painted, with a new concrete floor laid.
The establishment of the Robotics Center on the ASAS premises in Neuwied is expected to boost the region's technological prowess and support business growth. With the support of local authorities and partners, the center aims to foster innovation and education in robotics.
