Roll-out initiated for Samsung One UI 7 update on Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23 Plus, and S23 devices, yet users face a potential hurdle.
Samsung has revived the dissemination of the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, marking the official resumption following a period of controversy. Over the past few days, the tech giant has initiated the rollout of the stable One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23 Plus, S23, and S24 FE. The rollout also encompasses the Android 15 update for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5, although it is currently confined to South Korea with no confirmed information on the India release timeline.
Reliable sources, such as Tipster Tarun Vats on X, have reported that all non-beta users of these devices in South Korea are receiving the One UI 7 update. Although no official statement has been made regarding the global rollout timeline for Android 15, leaked information suggests a rollout by the end of April.
In a recent announcement, Samsung confirmed that the stable One UI 7 update is now accessible for non-beta users in South Korea with the build numbers S918NKSU6DYD9, S918NOKR6DYD9, and S918NKSU6DYD9. Users should note that the update is over 5GB, which may necessitate some storage adjustments on their devices. Previously, devices enrolled in the One UI 7 Beta program were the first to receive the update.
One UI 7 update will introduce a variety of new elements, including redesigned icons, user interface enhancements, and increased customization options. The update will also feature the Now Bar, designed to improve accessibility, and will boost the capabilities of Galaxy AI features like writing tools and the search circle. Lastly, the new update will provide changes to the user interface and additional tools to enhance productivity and offer real-time summary information.
The One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, is already in the works, scheduled for release in the summer of 2025.
