Rostelecom Boosts Road Safety in Krasnodar Region with Traffic Violation Recording APs

In a bid to enhance road safety and traffic management, Rostelecom has completed an eight-month project in the Krasnodar region. The project, which began in December 2024 and ended in July 2025, focused on installing and maintaining access points (APs) for recording traffic violations.

The initiative, aimed at strengthening traffic safety and law enforcement, involves the deployment of a modern monitoring infrastructure consisting of APs dedicated to traffic violation recording and safety improvements. This system is designed to automatically record traffic violations and recognise vehicle number plates.

The Krasnodar region's road traffic management center, GUK "Center for Road Traffic Organization," served as the customer for the technical maintenance contract of APs. Rostelecom performed works on drilling, constructing poles, mounting, and setting up photo-video fixation complexes. Technical specialists also carried out repairs on protective and sealing gaskets, connectors, signaling and power cables, and adjusted the angle of the infrared projector for nighttime video recording.

To ensure the longevity of the installed APs, Rostelecom also cleaned objects of rust, dirt, dust, and insects as part of the project. The collected data from the APs is transmitted via a secure channel to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia's information-analytical system.

In addition to the state contract, Rostelecom has installed 131 new APs on accident-prone sections of the region. This move is part of Rostelecom's ongoing work to make the roads of the region safer and technologies more efficient.

Alexey Smaglyuk, Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Krasnodar region, stated that the use of APs for recording traffic violations contributes to creating a predictable and stable traffic situation. He also noted that every installed and repaired complex is a contribution to the preservation of life and health of both residents and tourists in the region.

Sergey Polyakov, Director of the Krasnodar branch of Rostelecom, emphasised the importance of maintaining functionality for any technical device exposed to the external environment. He stated that drivers should have a peaceful journey throughout the region.

With the summer season bringing a particularly tense situation on the roads, it's crucial to use and improve technologies that aim to make roads safer, more comfortable, and convenient for all road users. Rostelecom's projects for the state can be obtained on their official website.
