Russia Launches FGIS LK: A New Era in Forest Management

A new era in forest management has begun. All reports and declarations related to forests are now submitted through the Forestry and Game Management Information System (FGIS LK), which launched on January 1, replacing LesEGAIS. This modernisation brings numerous benefits, including a public forest map and improved data management.

FGIS LK combines various state services and data from the State Forest Register. It provides up-to-date information on forest use, protection, and accounting. A standout feature is the public forest map, which displays boundaries of forest districts, plots, and logging sites. This transparency aids in monitoring and planning.

The system also offers a free XML schema generation function, simplifying data submission. Leading the re-implementation of FGIS LK in Kamchatka Krai is Sergey Vladimirovich Ivanov, who is available for support queries. Technical assistance is further ensured by Rosleshoz's round-the-clock hotline at 8 800 302 13 46.

The shift to FGIS LK promises enhanced efficiency and transparency in forest management. With its comprehensive data integration, public mapping, and robust support services, the system is set to improve forest use, protection, and accounting in Russia.
