Saarland Government Discussion in Berlin - Cabinet Meeting, Dialogues, and Cultural Event
The Saar-Polygon support association is set to make a grand entrance under the motto "Future through Change". This announcement comes in anticipation of a significant event - a cabinet retreat of the Saarland State Government, scheduled for May 22, 2025, at the Saarland Representation in Berlin.
The retreat, focusing on international cooperation, promises to be a vibrant and engaging affair. High-profile discussions are planned with Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Bärbel Baß, Dr. Rolf Bösinger, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance responsible for federal-state finances, and representatives from Google about opportunities and challenges in the field of artificial intelligence for the economy and administration.
In addition to these political guests, around 50 trainees from the Saarland steel and automotive industry, and a delegation of the Saarland Brigade of the United States, will participate in the event. The German-French and the German-Polish Youth Office, Tourism Central Saarland, and France, Poland, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, and Mexico are also represented with information stands.
The cultural programme promises to be just as captivating. The evening will be musically accompanied by the marching band of the Saarland police, opera interpretations by Joachim Arnold, and the band LINDYANA. A Saarland food truck with French influences will be part of the culinary program.
Artistically, the retreat will see the unveiling of a large artwork on the facade of the Saarland State Parliament representation. Kostas Koufogiorgos and RESO, two renowned artists, will unveil their creations on the evening before and during the cabinet session, respectively.
The goal of the retreat is to engage in an intensive dialogue with the new federal government on the future themes of Saarland. A cultural reception will be held at the Saarland Representation on May 21, 2025, from 7:00 PM, providing an opportunity for further discussions and networking.
