The new solution, Acronis Archival Storage, is an S3-compatible service that leverages Seagate's Lyve Cloud Object Storage. It offers enterprise-grade security, including encryption during transport and storage, and complies with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards. For industries under tight regulations, it provides immutability options.
With over 60 percent of companies now managing more than 1 petabyte of data, as reported by Acronis President Gaidar Magdanurov, the alliance provides a solution to soaring storage costs. It targets organizations with large amounts of rarely used but retained data, focusing on sectors like healthcare, finance, law, and government.
