Leapmotor, a publicly-traded company (HKG: 9863), has launched its latest offering, the B01 electric sedan. The car, unveiled on July 24, has already garnered significant interest, with 10,132 locked-in orders within just 72 hours of its launch.
The B01 boasts a rear-wheel-drive layout and a powerful 7-in-1 electric drive system, generating 160 kW power and 240 Nm torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a swift 6.4 seconds. The car's aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of 0.197, adds to its impressive performance. Measuring 4770 mm long, 1880 mm wide, and 1490 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2735 mm, the B01 offers a spacious and stylish ride.
The B01 comes with three battery pack options, each offering varying CLTC ranges: 43.9 kWh (430 km), 56.2 kWh (550 km), and 67.1 kWh (650 km). Charging the car is quick and efficient, with a 30% to 80% charge taking only about 18 minutes. The car's efficiency is further demonstrated by its consumption of just 11.4 kWh per 100 km.
The B01 offers six trim versions, priced between RMB 89,800 and ¥119,800 (approx. $12,500 to $16,700). The price range splits as follows:

The LiDAR-equipped models come with advanced Qualcomm 8650 or 8295P chips, supporting L2+ autonomous driving with 27 sensors and around 26 driver assistance functions. Even base models feature AI voice recognition.
Interestingly, approximately 70% of B01 customers have opted for the 650-km range versions, while about 30% prefer the 550-km range trims. The budget-conscious 10% of buyers have shown a preference for the 430-km variant.
Additional notable features include a 14.6-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, heated/ventilated seats, 360° cameras, and smart safety systems tuned with European collaboration. The car maintains a 50:50 weight distribution and advanced suspension for stable, comfortable handling.
