Siberia's Personal Vehicle Imports Surge, Led by Chinese EVs
In the Siberian Federal District, a trend is emerging in the import of personal vehicles. Over 1,500 vehicles were brought in by individuals in the first eight months of 2025, with more than 50% originating from China. Notably, electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining traction, making up over 40% of these imports.
The shift towards EVs is evident, with a 15% increase in their import compared to the same period last year. Despite the growing popularity, the manufacturer delivering the largest supply of personally imported EVs remains unknown. The average age of the imported vehicles is not exceeding three years, indicating a preference for newer models.
The Siberian Federal District is witnessing a surge in personal vehicle imports, with China leading the origin countries. The rise in electric vehicle imports is a significant trend, although the leading supplier is yet to be identified.
