Solar lamp project worth RM122,500 by Kulai MP concludes, benefitting local communities

In the heart of Kulai parliament constituency, the 'Sinar Harapan' project has brought a new light to several community areas. The project, spearheaded by Kulai Member of Parliament Teo Nie Ching, who is also the deputy minister of communications, has seen the installation of 35 LED solar lamps at 14 locations.

The installation of these lamps was completed on September 11, with the Taman Impian Senai Arena being the first to welcome the new lighting solution. Seven additional locations, including Taman Impiana Senai Recreation Park, Kampung Baru Senai, Kampung Baru Sengkang, Kampung Baru Ayer Bemban Recreation Park, Kampung Baru Sedenak, Dewan Raya PPS Kampung Murni Jaya, and Surau Ayer Bemban, also received the solar lamps.

The LED solar lamp technology used in the project has been approved by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) and is certified by SIRIM. Each solar lamp unit, standing at six meters high and boasting a power of 60 watts, costs approximately RM3,500. The lamps are equipped with a battery that lasts for two days and can operate for 12 hours, from 7pm to 7am.

Bulk installation of the solar lamps allows for more competitive pricing, making it an affordable solution for the community. Each lamp comes with a two-year warranty, ensuring longevity and peace of mind for the users.

The contractor responsible for the installation of the solar lights remains undisclosed, but they have assured that any damage to the lamps can be promptly checked and addressed. The 'Sinar Harapan' project, which cost RM122,500 in total, aims to provide a safer and more accessible environment for the local community.

The solar lamps have been warmly received by the community, with many expressing their gratitude for the initiative. The project serves as a testament to the power of community-driven solutions and the potential of renewable energy technology in improving the lives of many.
