Solaris Unveils Compact Urbino 10.5 Electric Bus for Urban Streets in 2023
Solaris has unveiled its latest zero-emission offering, the Urbino 10.5 electric bus, at Busworld Europe. This compact, two-axle vehicle is set to hit urban streets in 2023.
The Urbino 10.5 electric can accommodate up to 85 passengers, with comfortable seating for 33 in a 2-2-0 layout. Despite its size, it boasts a tight turning radius under 17 metres, perfect for navigating dense urban environments.
Powered by a 240 kW synchronous motor and a battery capacity starting at around 350 kWh, this bus can travel over 600 km on a single charge. It offers advanced driver assistance functions and features the MirrorEye camera-based mirror replacement system for enhanced safety. Additionally, it uses a CO2 heat pump for eco-friendly air-conditioning.
The Urbino 10.5 electric can be charged via plug-in connection or pantograph. It also leads the way in sustainability with a recyclability rate of approximately 97%.
The Urbino 10.5 electric complements Solaris's existing zero-emission line-up, offering a compact, efficient, and sustainable solution for urban transport. It is set to enter operation in 2023, further expanding Solaris's commitment to clean mobility.
