Spied: Final production version of NIO ET7 TT caught on camera
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer NIO has revealed the specifications of its much-anticipated NIO ET7 sedan, set to hit the roads in 2022. With a focus on luxury and performance, the ET7 is poised to make a significant impact in the global EV market.
The ET7 will be available in three battery pack options: a 70kWh, a 100kWh, and a 150kWh. The 100kWh battery pack, a key option for the ET7 Premiere Edition, is expected to offer an impressive range of approximately 605 km under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC), a commonly used range standard for EVs in China.
In terms of pricing, the base model of the ET7 will start at 448,000 Yuan (USD 69,185), with the middle variant priced at 506,000 yuan (USD 78,142) and the top model at 526,000 yuan (USD 81,230). However, exact pricing figures for the ET7 are not yet confirmed. The ET7 boasts a dual-motor setup, with one motor located in the front and another in the rear. The front motor delivers an output of 180 kW, while the rear motor produces 300 kW. This configuration results in a combined output of 480 kW (644 HP) and a peak torque of 850 Nm. The ET7 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, showcasing its impressive performance capabilities.
The ET7 is also a leader in aerodynamic design, with a drag coefficient of 0.208, making it the second most aerodynamic EV globally. However, it falls short of the Mercedes EQS 450+, which holds the best aerodynamic record for an EV, with a lower drag coefficient.
The ET7 is a spacious luxury sedan, with dimensions of 5,101 mm in length and 1,987 mm in width. While the exact height is not explicitly stated, it is expected to be around 1,500+ mm based on typical sedan proportions and general information.
The NIO ET7 was first announced during the 2020 NIO Day in Chengdu. The ET7 will be launched in the German market next year, marking the first model of NIO to launch in Germany. The NIO ES8 will be launched in Norway on September 30, 2021, marking NIO's entry into the European market. The third-gen Nio ES8 crossover is scheduled to launch in autumn at Nio Day 2025.
