Swiss Makes History With First A350 Flight On October 9

Swiss is set to make history on October 9, 2025, with the first flight of its Airbus A350 from Toulouse to Zurich. This marks the first time a Swiss cockpit crew will pilot an A350, a significant milestone for the airline.

The flight can be live-tracked online, with updates provided on Swiss' social media platform X. The journey will offer stunning views of scenic locations such as Lake Geneva, the iconic Matterhorn, and Lake Lucerne. The A350-900, the first of ten new aircraft Swiss plans to operate by 2031, is expected to land in Zurich around 15:00, with the landing streamed live on YouTube from 14:45.

The A350 has undergone rigorous testing in Toulouse, including aerodynamics, control, cabin pressure, avionics, and electrical and climatic systems. This state-of-the-art aircraft boasts lower fuel consumption, emits less CO2, and makes up to 50% less noise compared to previous aircraft, making it an eco-friendly addition to Swiss' fleet.

The first flight of Swiss' Airbus A350, piloted by a full Swiss cockpit crew, is an exciting step forward for the airline. Not only does it introduce a more efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft, but it also offers passengers a unique opportunity to witness a historic event.
