Tech Innovation Expo, TeknoFest 2025, Unfolds in Istanbul, Highlighting Turkey's Technological Advancements

Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of TEKNOFEST, opened Turkey's largest technology festival in Istanbul on Wednesday, highlighting the importance of the National Technology Initiative in securing the country's full independence and prosperity.

Bayraktar made it clear that the initiative is not just about technical progress. Instead, he emphasized that advanced technology plays a decisive role in progress across all sectors, including health, agriculture, transport, and communications. These projects, he added, will lay the foundations of tomorrow's technology companies.

The National Technology Initiative, according to Bayraktar, is not solely focused on technology. It also combines technology with moral values, ensuring that the country's technological advancements are guided by ethical principles.

Among the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the 'Kuře' Digital Encyclopaedia, developed over one and a half years by the T3 Foundation and the KUME Foundation. This open-source, Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered knowledge base aims to provide a comprehensive and accessible source of information.

In addition to technological advancements, Bayraktar also addressed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, stating it is a matter of concern for all humanity.

The event, organized by the Türkiye Technology Team (T3) Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, saw a record number of applications. A total of 1.1 million participants competed in 64 categories, with thirteen new contests introduced this year.

One of the new contests featured the presentation of Türkiye's new social media platform, NSosyal, developed through youth initiatives. According to Bayraktar, NSosyal enables free exchange of ideas and is designed as an alternative to global digital monopolies.

At TEKNOFEST, Bayraktar emphasized, it is not only ideas that stand out, but also the hands and minds of the young people who will bring them to life. The festival serves as a platform for these young innovators to showcase their ideas and contribute to Türkiye's technological future.
