Tesla Introduces Terrestrial Armor Package for Cybertruck

Tesla has unveiled a new off-road upgrade for its Cybertruck, the Terrestrial Armor Package. This package is designed to protect key areas of the vehicle from tough terrain, enhancing the Cybertruck's rugged styling and off-road capabilities.

The Terrestrial Armor Package includes several components:

  1. Enhanced rock sliders made from coated steel, protecting the vehicle's sides from rocks and debris.
  2. An underbody battery shield constructed from durable aluminum, shielding the battery pack from damage and scraping.

The package weighs approximately 185 lbs and is engineered to maintain the Cybertruck’s performance and durability in harsh environments. It includes one underbody shield, one left side structural rocker, and one right side structural rocker.

The Terrestrial Armor Package is priced at $3,500, which includes shipping to the customer’s preferred Tesla Service Center and professional installation. Installation is estimated to take 3 to 6 hours.

Currently, the Terrestrial Armor Package is available exclusively for Foundation Series Cybertrucks. Wider availability for non-Foundation Series models is scheduled for September 2025. The package is compatible with Cybertruck configurations including Cyberbeast and All-Wheel Drive models.

Tesla engineers have been testing the Terrestrial Armor Package in Johnson Valley, with design engineer Zach audibly wincing as parts took heavy hits during testing. This shows Tesla's commitment to rigorous testing to ensure the package's effectiveness.

In other news, Tesla has canceled its planned Cybertruck Range Extender accessory and issued refunds to those who pre-ordered it. The Cybertruck has also received a new overload detection feature via software update 2025.26, designed to help owners avoid exceeding payload limits.
