Tesla's Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, Sreela Venkataratnam, Bids Farewell After 11 Years

In a significant move, Tesla's Vice President of Finance and Business Operations, Sreela Venkataratnam, has announced her resignation after 11 years with the company. According to Tesla's most recent proxy filing, this information was confirmed by the electric vehicle giant.

Venkataratnam, who joined Tesla as Director of Finance Operations in 2013, played a crucial role in the production of several Tesla models, including the Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, the Cybertruck, and the construction of several new factories. Her contributions to the company's growth have been substantial.

In her LinkedIn post, Venkataratnam described her time at Tesla as "nothing short of extraordinary." She cited the integrity, dedication, and collaboration of her colleagues as instrumental in Tesla's shared success. However, she did not specify the reasons for her resignation in her post.

Venkataratnam was one of Tesla's top women executives, but she was not among the top five highest-paid executives in 2023. Currently, Laurie Shelby is the only woman on Tesla's executive team.

This departure comes amidst a series of high-profile exits from Tesla. Drew Baglino and Rebecca Tinucci are among the executives who will be joining Uber Technologies in September.

In her post, Venkataratnam expressed gratitude to her colleagues and teammates for their support throughout her time at Tesla. She also expressed hope to find another opportunity with impactful change and a meaningful mission.

As of now, there is no available information about who will succeed Venkataratnam as Vice President of Tesla's Finance and Operations department. The Wall Street Journal reported this information.

Venkataratnam plans to take a break to spend time with family and friends before making her next career move. This news comes as a surprise to many, given her significant contributions to Tesla's success over the past decade. The company and its shareholders will undoubtedly miss her leadership and dedication.
