Tesla's Summon Feature to Navigate Multi-Level Garages Soon: Elon Musk
Elon Musk has hinted that Tesla is working on enhancing its Summon feature to navigate multi-level parking garages. The company is exploring solutions like altitude sensors and AI-driven perception to improve Summon's performance in complex garage environments.
Tesla originally introduced 'Actually Smart Summon' in September 2024 to tackle more intricate parking scenarios. However, the feature has faced limitations in multi-level garages. Musk recently responded to a post about these limitations, saying 'Not for long'.
Tesla is now considering enhanced sensor fusion and advanced environment mapping to improve Summon's performance in such complex settings. The company is also looking into solutions like altitude sensors or AI-driven perception to achieve this. Meanwhile, Tesla has recently tweaked the Summon feature to conserve energy by disabling Summon Standby under certain conditions.
Tesla is set to roll out Full Self-Driving (Supervised) version 14 this week, which may include improvements to the Summon feature. Musk has previously praised FSD 14 as a significant update, suggesting that the new version could bring substantial advancements to the Summon function, potentially enabling seamless navigation in multi-level parking garages.
