Toggling T10X costs upward following changes in electric vehicle taxation in Turkey

In a recent development, Togg, Turkey's leading electric vehicle (EV) brand, has announced a price increase for its T10X models. The adjustment comes in response to the revised Special Consumption Tax (OTV) regulations, which have caused significant price hikes for mid- and high-segment EVs like the T10X.

The new OTV regulations have led to a roughly 25% price hike across many electric models in the Turkish market. For Togg's T10X, the top model now costs ₺2,363,000 after a ₺483,000 increase. The starting price for Togg's T10X models has also risen, now at ₺1,862,000 ($45,806).

Despite these price increases, Togg continues to dominate Turkey's EV market. In 2025 alone, Togg has sold a total of 17,101 units, with 3,098 units sold in June. This strong sales performance has helped Togg maintain its leadership in both the electric and ICE SUV segments, with a lifetime total of 66,777 units sold as of now.

The revised OTV brackets for EVs in Turkey have significantly affected the pricing of many electric models in the market. For instance, vehicles under 160 kW with a pre-tax price above ₺1,650,000 face a 55% tax rate under the new regulations. Vehicles above 160 kW face even steeper tax rates, reaching up to 75%.

The impact of these changes on Togg's T10X is a methodical price increase aligned with the newly increased OTV tax brackets on electric vehicles, making the T10X more expensive for Turkish consumers.

Meanwhile, in other news, a trilateral summit was held in Istanbul between President Erdogan, Italian PM Meloni, and Libya's Dbeibeh. The focus of the summit was on migration and Gaza. Additionally, Fenerbahce has emerged as the top suitor for Heung-Min Son, who has recently left Tottenham after 10 years.

In a separate development, a 2,050-year-old council building was unearthed in Turkey's Laodicea. Lastly, the Kizilelma unmanned combat aircraft has entered serial production, with deliveries expected in 2026. A new axis is also emerging in the Mediterranean involving Turkey, Libya, and Italy.
