Unveiling the New Jeep Compass Electrified: A Game-Changer in the SUV Market

Transformed Jeep Compass generating Electric Magnetic Field

Jeep's iconic Compass, a staple in the compact SUV segment, has received an electrifying makeover, introducing three electric versions to its third generation. Set to shake up Europe first, followed by other global markets, this updated model boasts more room, advanced driver assistance systems, and an electrifying twist.

A Tech-Savvy Redesign: The New Jeep Compass arrives in Europe

The Compass 3.0 - electrified - takes Jeep's compact SUV lineup to new heights with cutting-edge technology and an increased focus on sustainability. While the American off-road vehicle pioneer has sold over 2.5 million units since the Compass' launch in 2006, the new model pushes boundaries to stand out in the fiercely competitive C-segment, accounting for nearly a quarter of the European car market.

Powering Ahead: A Variety of Powertrain Options

Jeep offers three powertrain options with the new, electrified Compass: a 48-volt mild hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and - for the first time ever - three electric versions. Each electric variant comes with an electric motor and a WLTP range of up to 650 kilometers in ideal conditions.

Charging On-The-Go: Faster and More Convenient

Electric Compass drivers need not worry about running out of juice, thanks to rapid charging capabilities. With a DC fast-charging capability of up to 160 kW, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes. An onboard charger also supports AC charging at up to 22 kW for added convenience.

Embracing Efficiency: Streamlined Design for Longer Drives

Thoughtful design elements have been integrated to reduce drag and improve efficiency, contributing to increased range. Optimized aerodynamics, active slats in the grille, strategically positioned air guides around the wheels, and a completely flat underside have reduced the drag coefficient (cW) by 10% to below 0.3.

Compact Yet Comfortable: Spacious and Practical

Measuring 4.55 meters in length, the new Compass stays true to the compact SUV segment while showcasing a roomier interior thanks to its platform's flexible design. Rear passengers benefit from 5.5 centimeters more legroom than before, while the cargo area swells by 45 liters to 550 liters, ensuring ample space for luggage and passengers alike. Upfront, a 34-liter storage compartment offers additional space, a jump from the predecessor's 14-liter compartment.

A Jeep Through and Through: Authentic Exterior Design

The Compass' exterior design bears the unmistakable hallmarks of the Jeep brand: the seven-slotted grille, trapezoidal wheel arches, and functional, modular skid plates honoring the brand's rugged heritage. A raised front radar sensor allows the vehicle to navigate treacherous terrain and parking maneuvers with ease. All-wheel-drive editions are further fortified with protective features, such as additional shielding and a tow hook at the rear.

Tech-Infused Interiors: Navigating the Future Together

A new infotainment system reigns supreme in the Compass' cockpit, featuring a 10.25-inch instrument display and a central 16-inch touchscreen. Regular over-the-air updates ensure that the latest features and navigation data are always accessible without the need for costly, time-consuming trips to the service center. The vehicle also comes equipped with driver-assistance systems enabling partial automation at level 2.

Balancing Performance and Comfort: A Refreshed Suspension System

Jeep has recalibrated the suspension to deliver an optimum blend of ride comfort and precise handling, ensuring that the new Compass provides both a smooth ride and responsive handling. The front-wheel-drive model boasts a ground clearance of up to 20 centimeters, while all-wheel-drive editions offer superior approach and departure angles for enhanced off-road capability.

First Edition: A Celebration of Innovation

The "First Edition" of the Compass Electric includes an array of exclusive features, such as 20-inch wheels, LED matrix headlights, and Jeep’s signature Selec Terrain system[1]. The edition is available as an electric vehicle with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for added versatility.

The First Edition also comes equipped with a host of standard features, including 360-degree parking sensors and a sensor-controlled tailgate for added convenience[1]. Diehard Jeep enthusiasts can opt for even more premium features, such as ventilated, massaging seats and a large panoramic sunroof.

An Exciting Vision for the Future

With delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025 and pricing details still under wraps, the new Jeep Compass Electric is bound to make waves in the automotive industry, solidifying Jeep's commitment to electrification and pushing the boundaries of technology and design in the compact SUV segment.
