Twilio Launches Compliance Toolkit for SMS Marketing

Twilio, a leading communication software company, has unveiled a beta version of its Compliance Toolkit. This AI-driven tool aims to help businesses navigate the complexities of SMS marketing regulations, particularly the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

The toolkit, activated before a campaign begins, instantly checks planned messages for compliance. It helps businesses increase marketing efficiency while minimizing legal risks. Companies can set their own rules using the Consent Management API, message classification parameters, and special case options.

As SMS sending volumes grow, so do the challenges of ensuring legal compliance. The Compliance Toolkit can delay messages, block them, or match recipient data to prevent violations. This includes sending during quiet hours, contacting opt-out recipients, or reaching new number owners.

Twilio's Compliance Toolkit, now in public beta, offers real-time SMS evaluation and automatic intervention to maintain regulatory compliance. By setting up custom rules, businesses can avoid high costs and legal consequences associated with incorrect consent, wrong recipients, or messages sent outside allowed times.
