Twitter Introducing a Fresh "Official" Verification Emblem for Authentic Accounts

In a recent update, Twitter has announced the introduction of an 'Official' label for validated accounts. This new feature is intended to provide a clearer distinction between accounts representing major media outlets, governments, and some public figures.

The 'Official' label is not for commercial businesses or personal authors by default. Instead, it is reserved for accounts that Twitter officially recognizes as authoritative and credible sources. These include media companies, government bodies, and other organizations.

Twitter users owning the rights to any images on the platform can request their removal. If an image is used without proper attribution, Twitter will promptly remove it. The World's Times (TWT) does not claim credit for images featured on their blog site unless otherwise noted.

TWT believes in providing proper attribution to the original author, artist, or photographer. Original sources are given links whenever possible on TWT. Not all previously verified accounts will receive the 'Official' label.

It's important to note that the 'Official' label is not part of the Twitter Blue service, a new $8 service that includes a blue verification mark and access to select features. ID verification, on the other hand, is an opt-in, paid membership that does not guarantee an account the 'Official' label.

Twitter continues to experiment with ways to separate account types, but the 'Official' label is not for sale. Viewers who believe that TWT has missed attributing an image can email TWT at their [email protected].
