United States: Romania Secures Third Position at Global Robotics Tournament

Romanian teams CSH from Timișoara and Eastern Foxes from Ploiești formed an alliance and bagged the third position at the FIRST Championship World Robotics Championship, which took place in Houston, Texas from April 16-19, 2025. These robotics whizzes secured their spot on the podium.

The robotics game was on fire at the 2025 FIRST Championship World Robotics Championship held in Houston, Texas! Teams from Romania, notably CSH Timișoara and Eastern Foxes Ploiești, seized the spotlight, securing a podium finish in the overall competition ranking against tough global competition.

In an epic showdown involving 256 teams from over 30 countries, this Romanian alliance demonstrated its might, earning the 3rd place global ranking.

But that's not all! TehnoZ from Pitești and Alphatronic from Cluj-Napoca both excelled in their division, with TehnoZ setting the season's world record for the highest score ever recorded in an official match. Alphatronic wasn't far behind, creating history alongside TehnoZ.

In the third division, Heart of RoBots from Buzău made a strong impression. They finished 6th and were named an Alliance Captain, an elite title reserved for top-ranked teams in the knockout stages.

The Romanian teams' achievements continued to stack up, with four teams winning 1st place in various division awards. Notably, the CSH Timișoara team earned an additional 2nd place in another award category.

How did they manage such impressive results? Over the Easter weekend, Romanian students showcased their skills and determination at the World Championship in the United States. These achievements are no doubt the product of champions in the making and the strength of Romania's STEM education and robotics programs!

The Natie Prin Educatie Association, organizing the most significant robotics program for high school students in Romania – FIRST Tech Challenge Romania – has been supporting talented students since 2016. The association has formed 220 high school robotics teams across Romania, providing opportunities for students of all levels to participate and flourish in the competitive field of robotics.

"Natie Prin Educatie Association has helped form these high-performing teams and nurture Romanian talent through its educational program. The association supports students beyond top performers, enabling broader progress in the field," the press release explained.
