US-based Lightship initiates manufacturing of high-end AE.1 travel trailer, unveiling two new trim options
Lightship, the pioneering all-electric RV company, has announced two new variants of its popular AE.1 electric travel trailer: the AE.1 Atmos and the AE.1 Panos. These new models join the sold-out AE.1 Cosmos Edition, which is currently in production.
The AE.1 Atmos and AE.1 Panos are designed to cater to different traveler needs and price points. Both trims come equipped with Lightship's proprietary TrekDrive self-propelling vehicle assist, providing a seamless driving experience.
The AE.1 Atmos, priced at $184,000, boasts a 77 kWh battery and a higher solar panel kW capacity. This flagship model offers high performance and capacity similar to the Cosmos but at a lower price and fewer extras. The AE.1 Atmos is expected to begin deliveries in spring 2026.
On the other hand, the AE.1 Panos, priced at $151,000, uses a smaller 44 kWh battery and features a lower solar capacity. Positioned as a more affordable, entry-level trim, the Panos provides a more budget-friendly option for those looking to venture into the world of electric travel trailers. Deliveries for the Panos are planned for late 2026.
The AE.1 Cosmos Edition, the first model of the AE.1 series, has been a hit since its launch. Priced at $250,000 and limited to 50 units, it comes with a 77 kWh battery, 1.8 kW solar panels, a dual-burner induction stovetop, combo microwave and convection oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, large water tanks, and a NACS charging port supporting up to 155 kW charging speed. It can output up to 10 kW externally. Initial customer deliveries of the AE.1 Cosmos Edition are expected by the end of summer.
Lightship, founded in 2020 by industry veterans Ben Parker and Toby Kraus, secured $34 million in Series B funding in January 2024 to accelerate electric trailer production in the US. The startup, based in San Francisco and Broomfield, Colorado, initiated production of the AE.1 Cosmos Edition in Colorado late last year.
Interested customers can make a reservation for any AE.1 model on the Lightship website. With strong demand for the AE.1 Cosmos Edition, it's expected that the new AE.1 Atmos and Panos will also generate significant interest.
