Prepare for InfoComm 2025's Grand Showdown!

On June 7th, InfoComm 2025 will take center stage at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Before you dive into the action, we caught up with some exhibitors to gain insights into trends, technology, inspiration, and exclusive sneak peeks of their booth highlights.

First up, we chatted with Thomas Schultz, senior business manager at Icron | An Analog Devices Brand. Let's see what he's got in store for us this year!

SCN: What's the main focus at your booth this year?

Thomas Schultz: We're launching Icron's USB 3 Raven 3301-ECO extender system and new Arbutus USB-C Extension product line. Our third-generation USB 3 Ravens boast a 70% size reduction and 70% lower power consumption compared to our first-generation extenders. What sets us apart from the competition is our ability to work with standard CAT 5e cabling, an industry exclusive. The Arbutus 63301 is a true USB-C extension solution that supports both USB 3 data and DisplayPort ALT mode 4Kp60 video on a single CAT 6a cable, offering up to 100m transmission. At the core of both products is our ITC3300B Blackbird ASIC SoC, which can convert USB 3, USB 2, DisplayPort and more into standard network packets for easier configuration and control.

SCN: Which buzzwords can we expect to dominate InfoComm 2025?

TS: You can bet that USB-C integration and its impact on meeting spaces and general connectivity will be on everyone's lips. AI will remain a top conversation topic for the foreseeable future, driving improvements for end-users and behind the scenes.

SCN: What inspires you about InfoComm?

TS: It's like attending a rock concert or hockey game—everyone is passionate about the same thing, and that collective energy can be incredibly empowering and invigorating.

SCN: How vital is dedicated power management to today's AV systems?

TS: As we prioritize green technologies and eco-friendly power plans, dedicated power management becomes increasingly necessary. Icron's products include power management for the status of USB and Video interfaces, with a main objective to reduce power consumption like in our Raven 3301-ECO.
