Vitesco Partners with DHL for CO2-Neutral Logistics by 2040
Vitesco Technologies, a leading supplier of electric powertrain systems, has announced a significant step towards its sustainability goals. The company has partnered with DHL Supply Chain to enhance its logistics operations, aiming for CO2 neutrality by 2040.
DHL Supply Chain will manage inbound shipments from nearly 500 of Vitesco's suppliers, optimizing routes and bundling volumes to reduce costs and carbon emissions. This move is expected to bring substantial savings and enhance sustainability, as demonstrated in successful pilot projects.
Vitesco, a tier one supplier for both electric and combustion powertrain systems, is merging with Schaeffler. The deal, expected to complete in the fourth quarter, aims to create a stronger tier one supplier for the EV sector and bring Vitesco under the same Schaeffler family ownership as Continental.
Looking ahead, Vitesco plans to collaborate with various manufacturers and partners in the automotive and energy sectors. These collaborations will focus on developing sustainable electric vehicle components and intelligent energy management systems. Partners include Dongfeng Passenger Car Corporation, Linamar Corporation, EXRO Technologies, GKN Automotive, and institutions like OTH Regensburg and TH Deggendorf.
The partnership with DHL Supply Chain is set to boost Vitesco's supply chain reliability and sustainability. Meanwhile, the merger with Schaeffler promises global growth opportunities. Vitesco's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and optimizing supply chains underscores its dedication to a sustainable future.
