Vkusvill Expands with 'On the Go' Roadside Cafés Amidst Cybersecurity Challenges
In July 2025, Russian alcohol supermarket network Vinlab suffered a significant cyber attack, resulting in losses exceeding 1 billion rubles. Meanwhile, retailer Vkusvill is expanding its reach with a new roadside café format, 'Vkusvill on the go', set to open in early November 2025.
Vkusvill's expansion comes after a strategic move in the first quarter of 2025, where it closed 238 trading points and increased the number of dark stores to 230. The company also acquired part of its long-term contractor Avtomakon's business to gain control over IT systems and development processes, reflecting its commitment to digital growth. This move aligns with Vkusvill's high online sales share, currently over 50%.
Vkusvill's plans to open 'Vkusvill on the go' by early November 2025 demonstrate its commitment to adapting to changing consumer trends and expanding its reach. Despite past challenges like the closure of 'Bodryu' and the recent cyber attack on Vinlab, Vkusvill remains focused on growth and innovation in the Russian retail market.
