Volvo Cars Announces Executive Changes to Drive EV Transition

Volvo Cars has announced a series of executive changes. Francesca Gamboni joins as Chief Supply Chain Officer, while Erik Severinson takes on the role of Chief Product and Strategy Officer. Anders Bell is named Chief Engineering and Technology Officer.

Francesca Gamboni brings extensive experience to her new role. She has previously worked for Renault-Nissan, Stellantis, Opel, Gefco, Bosch, and Accell. Before joining Volvo, she served as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO at Jaguar Land Rover. Gamboni will lead the global procurement and supply chain team, reporting directly to CEO Jim Rowan.

Erik Severinson, a long-time Volvo employee, has been appointed to a new position. He has been with the company since 2004, holding various roles in strategy, finance, and operations. Severinson will now oversee product strategy and will also report directly to Jim Rowan.

Anders Bell, who has been serving as head of engineering since 2022, has been promoted to Chief Engineering and Technology Officer. With previous experience at Tesla, Bell will lead the development of Volvo's electric vehicles and autonomous driving technologies.

These changes come as Volvo Cars continues to transform its operations and accelerate its shift towards electric vehicles. Gamboni, Severinson, and Bell will all report directly to CEO Jim Rowan, reflecting their importance in driving the company's strategic direction.
