Wolters Kluwer and AI-Powered Legal Platform Harvey Announce Collaboration
Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, a global leader in information, software solutions, and services, has announced two content licensing agreements with artificial intelligence-powered legal platform Harvey. This collaboration marks a significant step in Legal & Regulatory's strategic initiative to enhance the delivery of legal services through content, data, technology integrations, and the co-design of innovative new AI capabilities with customers and partners.
Martin O'Malley, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that it will advance the responsible integration of AI in legal workflows in key markets Germany and the U.S. The agreements provide Harvey with access to authoritative primary source legal content from Wolters Kluwer’s U.S. and German Legal & Regulatory businesses, supporting the broader evolution of trusted AI workflows in the legal industry in those markets.
Beyond licensing content, both companies are committed to exploring further collaboration opportunities. These opportunities aim to create additional customer value through integration of trusted legal data into AI-powered solutions, co-design of innovative new AI capabilities, technology integrations that enhance delivery of legal services, and expansion of AI-centric product offerings to improve legal professionals’ productivity.
Executives from both firms highlight the significance of having trusted, high-quality data as critical to powering effective AI solutions for global law firms and enterprises. This collaboration directly benefits users of Harvey in Germany and the U.S.
Harvey, a domain-specific AI for legal and professional services, is backed by world-class investors including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, GV, OpenAI Startup Fund, and Coatue. The platform is used by over 500 customers in 54 countries, streamlining workflows in areas including contract analysis, due diligence, compliance, and litigation.
Winston Weinberg, CEO of Harvey, emphasized the importance of having access to trusted data sources, particularly from Wolters Kluwer, a world-class provider of quality and trust. Wolters Kluwer, with operations in over 40 countries and employing approximately 21,400 people worldwide, reported 2023 annual revenues of €5.6 billion.
