Women in Khabarovsk are opting for artificial intelligence companions, according to a Yota analyst's observation.

In a surprising turn of events, Megafon, a leading telecommunications company in Russia, has announced a decline in interest among Russians in photo editors with neural networks. This trend, according to Megafon, marks a shift away from AI-driven photo editing tools in the country.

While the reasons behind this decline are not immediately clear, it appears that Russians are increasingly turning their attention towards AI companions. These digital interlocutors, designed to help users cope with stress and anxiety, are seeing a significant surge in popularity, especially in the Khabarovsk region.

Women make up the majority of users in this region, accounting for 65% of the total time spent with AI bots. Interestingly, residents aged 36-45 constitute 43% of the frequent users of these AI companions.

The rise in popularity of these AI companions is reflected in the increasing traffic on these services. On average, subscribers in the Khabarovsk region spend about 36 minutes a month on these AI companion services. Remarkably, the traffic volume of these services has increased fourfold by 2025, and the audience has grown almost fivefold during the same period.

Some popular AI companions in Khabarovsk include Character.ai, Talkie, and Replika. However, detailed demographic or usage statistics specific to Khabarovsk could not be found in the available data.

Despite this surge in popularity, concerns about mobile network disruptions due to governmental shutdowns aimed at countering drone threats could potentially affect Internet-based services, including AI companions, in the region.

Nevertheless, the trend of decreasing interest in AI-powered photo editing tools and the rising popularity of AI companions in Russia, particularly in Khabarovsk, presents an interesting shift in digital behaviour among Russians. As more data becomes available, we can expect a clearer picture of this fascinating development.

In this trend of decreasing interest in AI-driven photo editing tools, Russians appear to be increasingly attracted to AI companions, a digital solution designed to help cope with stress and anxiety. Surprisingly, women and residents aged 36-45 make up a significant portion of frequent users in the Khabarovsk region, where these AI companions are experiencing a significant surge in popularity.
